Over 300 people attended a demo in Llangefni on Saturday 21 January 2012 in support of the family of Caerdegog Farm who have refused to sell their land to Horizon Ltd. for the building of a new nuclear power plant on Anglesey.
Richard Jones of Caerdegog addressed the crowd saying “loosing 65 acres of best agricultural land and some 20 other would endanger the future of the farm.”
Mr Jones has also refused permisson for the company to make an assesment of the land.
The family have farmed the land for over 300 years.
The other speakers were Carl Clowes and Emlyn Richards on behalf of PAWB, Angharad Tomos and Menna Machreth of Cymdeithas yr Iaith (Welsh Language Society), Dr Malcom Caroll on belhalf of Greenpeace as well as representatives of the stop Hinkley campaign and Adam Philips of the Cambrian Band/Celtic League.
The protesters assembled at the old town hall car park and marched through the town centre.
